We welcome you to this 17th century former farmhouse which still retains its blackened oak beams and open fire. Recently refurbished to increase it’s comfy atmosphere, the wooden stalls create cosy corners, whilst cushions adorn the fixed seating to give a more homely feel. A new ‘snug’ adult only dining room has been added this season and the bar area now caters for drinkers with their own tables which are no longer reservable for food, ensuring both locals and visiting drinkers have somewhere to settle down in comfort.
At the front of the property the new sun terrace is protected by café screens and umbrellas providing lovely views of the fell and Skiddaw. A walk around our charming village, complete with stream, ducks, geese and humpback bridge is a delight, whilst Osprey viewing is just 2 miles away at nearby Dodd Wood.
For 2011, a new wine list, new menus and rapidly changing specials will ensure a good choice of freshly-made locally sourced Cumbrian ingredients. Meat is supplied by a local butcher in Keswick from local farmers. A full gluten-free menu is also available.
